This may not be the proper place for me to put this but here is my tech support experience with
AnyDVD and
cloneDVD support. Please note that each answer I received back from Bernd really didn't answer anything. This has been going on for days now.
You decide whether to get involved with SlySoft or not. I'm not.
< original and current thread I have going with Bernd Hartings at SlySoft about problems I've been having testing AnyDVD and cloneDVD under different circumstances. Note the lack of any real help here. The thread has NOT been modified in any way other than to take out my email address. >
Greetings Bernd,
I gave you no less than three tries to answer a couple of questions I had. You avoided the questions each time telling me to try the software the first time, try the software before I comment on its abilities the second time (effectively the same answer) and the third time you told me exactly what I told you in my message to you, AVOIDING AGAIN answering my direct questions and telling me you don't have any control over CloneDVD (effectively washing your hands of any responsibility for it). I can only imagine the fun you must have playing ping pong with your customers between you (AnyDVD) and Elaborate (cloneDVD) when problems arise. Do I really want to take a chance on that kind of support? No fuc*king way thank you... I support and purchase IBM Mainframes for a living and have enough fun with them without having to take it up the, well you know where, from developers like yourself who have no time to talk with customers who you obviously think have no idea what they are talking about let alone asking.
Congratulation, you just blew a sale and any future business. I can't imagine how anyone puts up with your kind of support. It truly sucks.
Have a nice life and hope no one ever asks me what I think about AnyDVD and its support...

Hello Stan,
We offer free lifetime upgrades for AnyDVD and
CloneCD. Once
you have bought a license for these programs you get all
updates of the respective program for free.
CloneDVD is limited to one year free updates. After this
period you'll have to buy a new license in order to be able
to update further.
CloneDVD is not our program, it is made by Elaborate Bytes
(
http://elby.ch). Therefore we have no influence on the
license terms of this program.
Best regards
Bernd Hartings
