This is ok with me and my system, but no doubt, there is variability as far as how each system responds to this. I'm behind a hardware (router) fw, as well as a software fw (norton - which for the first time in many years, I will not be renewing). In my paranoia, I seldom grant permanent "permission" to programs I have installed. Instead, I grant access on a single time basis. To my knowledge, there is no way to disable this "phoning home" within the fab application.
