I pick my tv's the way my father taught me to. You go to a store with a large selection, and then watch each one a couple of times until you see which has the picture you like the best. View it from several angles and make sure you can see the picture well from any angles. Buy the one you liked. I've even gone as far as to take the exact one I was watching, as there can be slight differences in same models (ie: dead pixels, weak capacitors, etc..) It might be rare, but I've never gone wrong with this method. At the very least, you will find the make and model number you like, and can then search for bargains or deals on that same one.
