Some older IDE cables are designed for CS operation. Not saying your is but...
First you can try to put everything back as it once was. Also go into Device Manager and delete Secondary IDE channel (if it's shown at all). Restart and let windoze install default M$ IDE drivers.
For further assistance we have to know more about your system so please download latest
Nero InfoTool and post your system configuration (click diskette symbol at top of InfoTool window, save output as .txt file, post here in [code] (#) tags).
