just make sure you connected the speaker- / headphone cable into the right output port (if it's a 5.1 chip, choose the one for the front speakers) and make sure you have set up the correct sound setup (5.1 / stereo / headphones) in your windows / driver settings.
if it still does not sound good, go and get a dedicated (good) sound card
