| My new BenQ sucks? Okay, got a BenQ 1640 today, and after a bunch of stress (bad cables came with it, tricky tower enclosure made installing it hard) I finally burned some media. Here's what happened:
General Information
Drive: BENQ DVD DD DW1640
Firmware: BSHB
Disc: DVD+RW (PHILIPS 041)
Selected speed: 8 X
PI errors
Maximum: 16
Average: 5.60
Total: 63473
PI failures
Maximum: 13
Average: 0.19
Total: 2012
PO failures: 0
Jitter
Maximum: 8.5 %
Average: 6.76 %
Scanning Statistics
Elapsed time: 9:39
Number of samples: 17444
Average scanning interval: 8.08 ECC
Glitches removed: 0
Several things concern me at this point:
1) I think the PI/F are kinda high. Should I get better media? My box (and every where I look on the web) says that this media should be fine. Have I been lied to?
2) The disc is 4.7GB, but Nero says it's 4.3GB. Muh?
I also got an error when I started burning saying that the DVD would be burned in UDF format because a file was too big. I then got a tone of errors in burning. Here's the log:
