Umm, he needs more info than that! All the R884 means is that is resistor # 884 on the PCB (printed circuit board). Without a schematic to reference with the resistor with, he can't look up the value. So, resistors are usually labeled with a little number on the part itself. They used to color code them, but I don't think they do that with surface mount stuff. He really needs the number off the actual part. The other part is probably a capacitor, but again, the number written on the circuit board is pretty much USELESS, you'll have to look on the part itself. I've been into electronics for a long time, and replaced many parts on circuit boards. The number on the board does very little except tell you what type of part it is. The value of the part is another question.
