Well you won't believe it, but as soon as I replaced my computer power supply, it started to work again. You see, I had been waiting for a higher wattage power supply mail order. I got it today and install it and the it would recognize the DVDs again. Something is still a little flaky though as it fails verification after burning but then when I look, all the files are there and intact. I changed out the cable and that didn't seem to help. This drive is only 5 months old. Tht's not very long for a drive to last. I've burned all of maybe 15 DVD with it since new.
