A long shot, but I hope this will help.
I have had problems with
CloneDvd2 reporting that it has successfully made an iso to my hard drive, but in reality, there is only an empty file present, (with the file name there, as selected when I set up the burn).
I found that this problem was induced by using the drive speed control feature within
AnyDvd, and having
Nero Drive Speed installed on my system at the same time.
Right clicking the drive speed control box in AnyDvd warns not to use in conjunction with other drive control programs.
I didn't have Nero Drive Speed running alongside AnyDvd, but there was a conflict between them, that went away when I disabled the drive control feature within AnyDvd.
Your mention of having Nero installed on your machine brought this to mind, as drive speed is incorporated into Nero Se.
