I beleive you have a defective disk. ET is a very old movie so you can rule out any copy protection issues that AnyDVD wouldn't handle. I'm not familiar with The Secret Files.

Does the disk play properly on your PC and stand alone player?

I think it's just a coincidence that you received the error message on both VTS_01_4.VOB files. I see brand new out of the box DVD's that play on the PC and stand alones, but cannot be copied due to being defective. So by saying a disk is brand new doesn't mean it will immune to defects that prevent you from copying.

If you have access to another DVD reader drive, perhaps yourself or a friend, you can do a fast test. Install the DVD in the other drive with AnyDVD running, if the other computer doesn't have AnyDVD, say a friends, then install your copy temporarily, it will fit on a floppy. In most cases, DVD-Rom's (reader only) are better at reading than DVD burners.

Next with AnyDVD running, insert the DVD, then open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the VTS_01_4.VOB file only, highlight it, then drag it into a temporary folder. If Explorer locks up at a point, it's a bad disk you have.
If it does copy, there are a few things that are possible, your burners reading capabiliity is not as good as the unit you were able to copy the file to, or the very remote possibility your burner is laser is failing at a certain point which I highly doubt.
This can be proven by merely the fact that you are able to do burns successfully with other than the two movies you are having problems with.

You can still salvage the burn if you are able to copy the file somewhere.
Just use the same procedure outlined for Windows Explorer and copy all the files except the defective VTS_01_4.VOB file to a temporary folder. Then move the defective file you were able to copy to that folder, once again if it's from another computer it will fit on a floppy. Once all files are in the temp folder use CloneDVD as you normally do using that temporary folder as the source.

Keep in mind though the disk may also have more than 1 defect, but it stopped at VTS_01_4.VOB, it may have more in later files.
