Wow but can you try using CD-DVD Speed Create Disk function so the burn graph is superimposed on your burn scan as well? Cos certain programs esp. Nero may claim that you are burning at 16x but in actual fact, you may be running at lower speeds.

You can see the burn graph (the black line) in my posted scans so there is no room for any doubt.
